A Safety Task Force is in Steamboat Springs from the United States Postal Service in Denver.
“We do whatever is needed to be done. We help out wherever we can.”
Desiree is on the Safety Task Force for the postal service. She and a crew are in Steamboat Springs right now, to help at the local post office. They first checked out the parking lot to make sure it is safe and then moved inside to get to work.
“Right now, it’s just to make sure that the area is safe for customers to walk through the lobbies and into the box area, making sure that its presentable. This is a federal institution here. We want to look the part. So we’re here to make sure we are a shining star out here in Steamboat.”
The Safety Task Force comes to a local post office to help whenever and however they are needed. It could be cleaning and custodial, moving furniture, talking to the carriers about vehicle safety, proper ways to lift, and more. They are there to help do the jobs that sometimes get neglected at a post office since the carriers and supervisors are busy doing their jobs. And they came to Steamboat Springs to help.
