An arrest warrant has been issued for a former employee of Haymaker Golf Course. It’s for felony fraud of at least $2K. This person is no longer working with Haymaker or living in Colorado. It happened last summer and was discovered during the city’s internal auditing and cash protocols. Management was alerted. The Routt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Routt County Sheriff’s Office Issues Arrest Warrant to Former Employee
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-March 30, 2023-The City of Steamboat Springs has identified a suspected fraud case and is working with the Routt County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) on the matter.
An arrest warrant for felony fraud (at least $2K) has been issued for the employee alleged to have committed the fraud who is no longer employed at the Haymaker Golf Course or living in the state.
“As we look to continuously enhance internal procedures, we will be adding additional measures to ensure this doesn’t occur in the future,” said Parks & Recreation Director Angela Cosby. “I can assure you that we take our financial responsibility and operation of the course seriously and acted quickly when this came to light.”
The city’s internal auditing and cash protocols alerted management to the matter. Based on the investigation, this incident is isolated to one individual and took place over the summer. Evidence has been collected by the RCSO.
Since this is an ongoing investigation, further information and details will come from the Routt County Sheriff’s Office.
All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
