Steamboat Springs skiers and riders took the podium at national competitions across the country Monday.

At the U.S. National Alpine Championships in Sun Valley Monday, Steamboat’s Jett Seymour won the slalom, for the second year in a row.
“It feels great. It was nice to come back to the U.S. and be able to wrap up a successful season in Europe and top it off with defending my national championship title from last year. Thank you all for all of the support throughout the year and cheering for me. I felt it over in Europe and I couldn’t be doing it without all of you all so I appreciate it.”
SSWSC’s Jay Poulter was third.

Also, skiing for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club from Steamboat was Tatum Grosdidier who finished 7th overall in women’s slalom but was 3rd overall for the juniors.

Steamboat Springs High School sophomore Adrian Beauregard took first place in Men’s Super-G.
“It’s just like it puts your club out there and everything you’ve been working through the whole season finally comes together for a victory like that. Then your coaches and fellow teammates can breathe out and feel like all the work through the year has paid off.”
Caspian Troan was third.

In the Women’s Giant Slalom, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes swept the podium with Logan Grosdidier, Abby Olson, and Katharina Cosby finishing 1, 2, and 3.

Then for the Women’s Open Class, 16-year-old Gigi Boyd flew in from Junior Worlds in Italy, landed at DIA at 6 a.m., drove up to Copper Mountain, competed and won the open class in snowboardcross.
“I wasn’t sure how I would do because I had just gotten off a plane that morning, so I was super excited when I won and it was really just a great environment being up there with my coach and my teammates and did everything I could and I walked away with the win and I’m super proud of that.”
Boyd says she would like to thank her SSWSC Coach, Erik Gunderson, and all of the other coaches who helped her this season. That includes Steamboat’s Mick Dierdorff, Jarrod Swah from Winter Park and JW from Team Summit.
The three National Championship competitions happening right now will continue this week with different events.
