Jessica Stahl has been found guilty on all charges except for one assault charge in the Vehicular Homicide DUI death of Lacey Lewis of Steamboat Springs last summer. Sentencing is July 28.
It’s Memorial Day weekend but it’s also a big weekend for graduations in Northwest Colorado.
Today is graduation day for the Yampa Valley High School Class of 2023.
Saturday is a BIG day for commencement ceremonies.
Graduation for the 196 Sailors at Steamboat Springs High School is at 10 a.m. at Gardner Field Saturday.
The Moffat County High School Class of 2023 graduates 100 Bulldogs on Saturday, May 27, at the high school in the gym. The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. And in Craig, students have been reminded that senior pranks will not be tolerated and those who may still decide to do a senior prank won’t be able to participate in commencement.
Fourteen Soroco Rams Seniors will cross the stage at 11 a.m. for their graduation.
There are 52 Meeker Cowboys graduating at 10 a.m. Saturday at Starbucks Stadium.

The Craig Chamber Carnival is also running daily through Memorial Day at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
The annual Bike Swap, hosted by Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 27, in the Howelsen Hill parking lot. You can sell your bike, or upgrade to a new one. Consignors are asked to drop off bikes between 8:30-9:30 a.m. It’s $5 entry fee per item, or $20 for a 10’x10’ space. Commission to Winter Sports Club is 25%, up to $175 per item. Then pick up what didn’t sell starting at noon. The Bike Swap is a benefit for SSWSC athletes.
Steamboat Art Museum’s Summer exhibit Opens Saturday, May 26. The Steamboat Art Museum presents T.D. Kelsey and Julie Oriet: Coming Full Circle. Their works feature sculpture and painting from the ranches and big skies of the West to the wilds of Africa. The exhibit at the Steamboat Art Museum in downtown Steamboat Springs runs through Sept. 2. Admission is free.
The Hayden Granary Community Barn Dance is Saturday night, starting at 6:30 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 per adult and $5 per kid at the door.

Adult Hockey Leagues in Steamboat Springs are forming. Friday, May 26, is the last day to sign up for Adult Hockey this summer. League drafts will take place on Wednesday, May 31, with league schedules and rosters being released by Friday, June 2. There is also a Youth Hockey League and Curling Leagues at Howelsen Ice Arena. Sign up through the City’s website.

Steamboat Digs Dogs is helping organize a pet poop pick-up day on May 28, with the Routt County Humane Society. Volunteers who would like to help please meet in the parking lot across from the post office at 11 a.m. Afterwards, meet at the Humane Society shelter for lunch and prizes.
Monday is Memorial Day. The Steamboat Springs Memorial Day Ceremony is hosted by the American Legion & Veterans of Foreign War. It honors the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the cemetery. The City of Steamboat Springs asks that you ride a free shuttle up to the Memorial Day Ceremony Monday. It leaves from the Stockbridge Transit Center, starting at 9:45 a.m.
Memorial Day services in Craig are also at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Craig Cemetery.
