Five students from Moffat County High School are headed to a drone camp this summer for one week. The CSU Drone Center wrote a grant for rural students to gain experiences and exposure to the aviation industry. Part of the grant includes a week at the Drone Aviation Pathway Summer Program for high school students. Moffat County High School Teacher Emmy Wood is taking the following five students.
- Carter Wood
- Zach Crookston
- Byers Compton
- MaryAnn Booker
- Trevor Odell
They will all learn how to fly a drone, prepare for drone licensure, and then take a test at the end of the week to get a drone pilot’s license.
