Moffat County School District has added new leadership in several key positions across the district. Some come from within the district and others are from outside the school district.

MOFFAT COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ADDS NEW LEADERSHIP IN DISTRICT
The Moffat County School District website still lists 68 openings in the district, 18 of which are for athletics and activities. Others range from Director of Finance in Administration to support staff, substitutes, bus drivers and teaching positions.

Five students from Moffat County High School are headed to a drone camp this summer for one week. The CSU Drone Center wrote a grant for rural students to gain experiences and exposure to the aviation industry. Part of the grant includes a week at the Drone Aviation Pathway Summer Program for high school students. Moffat County High School Teacher Emmy Wood is taking the following five students.

- Trevor Odell
They will all learn how to fly a drone, prepare for drone licensure, and then take a test at the end of the week to get a drone pilot’s license.

The Range Food & Drink Hall at the base of Steamboat Resort opens this Friday. The community is invited to the ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. where there will also be a champagne toast. The Range food & Drink Hall has two stories with four food hall vendors along with indoor/outdoor seating. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, starting on Friday, June 16.
The Steamboat Bike Park also opens for daily operations Friday, June, 16, as well.
Coca Cola’s Movies on the Mountain kicks off the summer season on Saturday, June 17.
THE NEW RANGE FOOD & DRINK HALL OPENS FRIDAY AT STEAMBOAT SKI RESORT
The Colorado Mustang Stampede rumbles into Steamboat Springs this Father’s Day weekend. You’ll start seeing cars soon. They’ll caravan down Lincoln Avenue in Steamboat Springs just before noon on Thursday. Then over 100 Ford Mustangs will be lined up on display from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Yampa Street in Steamboat.
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Steamboat Springs City Hall and Downtown Fire Station project is next Tuesday, June 20. It’s at 3:30 p.m. on the future site, which is on 10th Street, across from Centennial Hall. That’s also when the 10th Street parking lot will close permanently.
GROUNDBREAKING FOR NEW CITY HALL AND FIRE STATION IS JUNE 20
Friends of Natural History is hosting a Chamber mixer in Craig. It’s from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, and it is now being held on the north side of Colorado Northwestern Community College in Craig. All are welcome.
