The Yampa Valley Balloon Rodeo returns on the last weekend of July. That’s the new name of the longstanding event in Steamboat Springs. The announcement was made back in February of this year.
THE YAMPA VALLEY BALLOON RODEO IS THE NEW NAME OF A LONGTIME STEAMBOAT SPRINGS EVENT
Western Spirit is a hand-painted balloon.
There will be 34 balloons including five of the exclusive hand-painted balloons, all at the same event. There are very few remaining in the world.
New this year is that spectators are not allowed at the launch site. Pick a nice spot in town or in the valley and watch the balloons floating over. Launch times are at 6:30 a.m. both that Saturday and Sunday.
Event organizers are looking for lodging for two or three nights for the visiting pilots. Many of the pilots have been flying over Steamboat Springs for 35 years or more. If you can help, please reach out to Karen Beauvais with Coldwell Banker or Scott Flower, who are organizing the Balloon Rodeo. This can be local homeowners, second homeowners, hotels, condos, or townhomes. Lodging needs to be complimentary, including the cleaning.

Sponsorships are also needed for the Balloon Rodeo. There are three levels of sponsors.
