The Fourth of July Parade in Steamboat Springs is back on Lincoln Avenue this year. It had been moved to Yampa Street for a couple of years because of problems on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon, when all traffic had to be re-routed, eventually through downtown Steamboat Springs. But now, city officials have decided the 120th Annual Cowboys Roundup Days Fourth of July Parade should return to Lincoln Avenue. And if there is another closure along I-70, the parade could have to still be held on Yampa Street.

The Steamboat Springs Balloon Rodeo returns on the last weekend of July. There will be 34 balloons. New this year is that spectators are not allowed at the launch site. Pick a nice spot in town or in the valley and watch the balloons floating over. Launch times are at 6:30 a.m. both that Saturday and Sunday.
Event organizers are looking for lodging for two or three nights for the visiting pilots. This can be local homeowners, second homeowners, hotels, condos, or townhomes. Lodging needs to be complimentary, including the cleaning.
Sponsorships are also needed for the Balloon Rodeo. There are three levels of sponsors. Or reach out to Karen Beauvais with Coldwell Banker or Scott Flower, who are organizing the Balloon Rodeo. Karen Beauvais 970-846-8814 or KBeauvais@coldwellbanker.com
