Fireworks are going off at sunset Saturday night, up at Steamboat Lake State Park in North Routt County. “Captain Karl” Bunker from Steamboat Lake Marina says the fireworks will be shot off from an island in the middle of the lake.
“You get to see the fireworks and the reflection from the water, hear the echo of the mountains all around. There are no other lights in the area so you really get the full experience of being out in the state park. Really dark. Really brilliant fireworks. It’s always been spectacular.”
Fireworks start at sunset, around 9 p.m. No personal fireworks are allowed.
If you drive up to the state park, you’ll need a vehicle pass. If you park at the outpost, you’ll need an individual pass to walk in. There are spots all around the lake to watch the fireworks.
