Confirmed speakers include City Manager Gary Suiter, City Councilor Gail Garey, past City Council member Scott Ford, Planning Commissioner Brian Adams, and County Commissioner Tim Corrigan. Steamboat Springs Chamber Invites You to Step Up & Serve at Community Leadership Rally
Steamboat Springs, Colorado – June 22, 2023 – The Steamboat Springs Chamber is pleased to announce the return of the Step Up & Serve event, taking place Thursday, June 29 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Citizen’s Hall on 124 10th St. Step Up & Serve will be an informative Q&A and networking event with a panel including current and past City Councilors, member of the County Board of Commissioners, and Planning Commission discussing how and why to run for public office.
“Serving on City Council, as a County Commissioner, or on a board is one of the best ways to make an impact in our community,” says Sarah Leonard, CEO of Steamboat Springs Chamber. “Service allows individuals to be a voice for community members while shaping policy, fostering economic growth and creating a thriving environment for businesses and workforce to prosper in Routt County.”
Step Up & Serve offers an opportunity for any community member to learn more about what it takes to run for a seat in local government and how to elevate their voice by actively shaping policies and influencing decision-making. It will also be a great opportunity to meet local representatives, create connections, and ask questions.
The event is presented by the Steamboat Springs Chamber in partnership with the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee.
