The Routt County Sheriff’s Office has a Public Information Officer. Tabitha Callies has been a patrol deputy for about a year, but she will now be the Public Information Officer as well.
“I’m looking forward to being able to communicate accurate, reliable, and fun information to the community from the sheriff’s office.”
Callies came to Routt County to work for Colorado Parks and Wildlife at Stagecoach State Park before becoming a Routt County Sheriff’s Officer.
Here is more from Officer Callies: “I am a Colorado native. I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism. After college I moved to the great State of Alaska to explore. When I returned I got a job as a Parks Officer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. I was stationed at Stagecoach State Park and that’s how I ended up in Routt County. After the county stole my heart and a little bit of peer pressure from the Sheriff’s Office I changed my career and joined Routt County Sheriff’s Office. Serving my community has been the most rewarding job I’ve had and I look forward to seeing where it takes me!”
