The new Routt County Public Health & Human Services Building at 6th and Oak Street has been officially dedicated. The ribbon cutting was Wednesday afternoon. Kelly Kissling is the Director of Human Services for Routt County.
“We are just really appreciative and grateful to the county for understanding the importance of having a safe and beautiful building for our staff and for the community.”
Art from local artists is throughout the building. One of those artists is Simone White, who is a graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, Class of 2021.
“I’ve been doing my art for two years now, since I graduated and I’ve been trying to pursue it as a full-time act and it is such an honor to be in such a community building but also with all these other amazingly accomplished artists. It’s a super huge deal for me.”
The new Health and Human Services Building holds offices for social services for the county, and Routt County Public Health, a community room and meeting spaces for the county. More pictures are below.
The groundbreaking on the building was back in a snowstorm in October of 2021.
