The multi-jurisdiction All Crimes Enforcement team, along with Routt County Sheriff Deputies, Steamboat Springs Police and Hayden Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Hayden Wednesday. Three people were arrested for multiple offenses. A stolen camper trailer was recovered and illicit narcotics were seized.
A man from Kansas has plead guilty to poaching a moose in Teller County. That’s west of Colorado Springs It happened in September of 2021. It took two years, but CPW was able to track down Steven Samuelson of Oakley, Kansas, after he stalked and illegally killed the bull moose. He tried to hide it with branches and sticks. There were also pictures from a privately owned game camera. Steven Samuelson has pleaded guilty to all of the charges, one of which was a felony. He has a two-year deferred jail sentence, and he was fined nearly $20,000.

KANSAS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO STALKING AND ILLEGALLY KILLING A BULL MOOSE
Thirty-seven Colorado communities will receive funding from the state for roads and transportation. The one project in Routt County is for a pedestrian/bike connection for Brown Ranch and West Steamboat Springs. It’s for $1,300,000. It will provide trail construction and improvements to connect Steamboat Springs with housing to the west. The $42 million in funding of the statewide projects is from the bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Jerry Hernandez has been named Deputy Director for Integrated Community, which is a non-profit organization serving the immigrant community of Routt and Moffat counties. Hernandez has been with Integrated Community since 2018. In his new position, he’ll be in a leadership position, responsible for managing key projects, staff development, and long-term planning.
INTEGRATED COMMUNITY NAMES NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR
The outside walls at Moffat County High School are being painted. The new color is a variety of dark grays replacing the beige-pinkish color that has been there since the high school building was built in 1981.
School registration is open in the Moffat County School District. If parents need help registering their kids, help will be available starting next Wednesday, July 26, at your child’s school. That’s when building staff and administration will return to the office to get ready for the school year.

Partners for Youth in Moffat County is holding a couple of summer pool parties. The pool party for the middle school kids is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 21.
