Steamboat Sports Barn and Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado Explore Shared Space
Steamboat Springs, Colorado – July 25, 2023 – The Steamboat Sports Barn (SSB), a local based 501(c)3 non-profit, has been working to meet the overwhelming need in the community to provide an indoor sports facility for local youth and adult recreational and competitive sports programs.
As part of this process, the SSB is currently exploring a relationship with the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Colorado (BGCNWC) involving a shared space at the Brown Ranch.
“The Steamboat Sports Barn is excited to work with the Boys and Girls Club on a possible shared space,” said SSB Board President, Leon Rinck. “Our goal is to serve the entire community by providing a welcoming, safe space for youth in the Yampa Valley. These goals align well with the mission of the Boys & Girls Club enable and inspire the young people of Northwest Colorado to realize their full potential.”
The BGCNWC has already submitted a proposal to have space for a new facility to meet their growing needs in the Brown Ranch. The SSB proposal currently includes indoor courts and field space, along with other amenities for users.
“The Boys & Girls Club believes the Steamboat Sports Barn will offer the youth of our community a very important place to play their sport, build friendships and skills and learn that sports are a valuable tool in lifelong happiness,” said Kelly Landers, Development Director of BGCNWC. “The Club is excited to support and use this facility for our over 500 members currently in Steamboat and possibly more in the future with the development of Brown Ranch.”
