New South Hotel Trails Connection Improves Access
Trail Project Starts July 31 & Runs Approximately Six Weeks
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 25, 2023-Access for pedestrian and bicycles will shift into a new gear when the South Hotel Trails Connection becomes a reality in approximately a month and a half from now. The trail project will begin mobilization on Tuesday, July 31, 2023.
“This project will provide access to the Walton Creek Trail for pedestrians and bikers and improve the overall multimodal functionality in this expanding area of the city,” said Public Works Engineer and Project Manager Bjorn Utu. “We don’t anticipate impacting traffic or current use of the Walton Creek Trail.”
The work includes constructing new concrete trail connections for the South Hotels Trail Connection which will link several properties on the east side of US40 to the existing trail system.
Crews will focus their efforts in two locations: one south of Indian Meadows Townhomes at the end of Ingles Lane and the other to the west of the former Fairfield Inn (see graphic).
Native Excavating was awarded the 2A Accommodation Tax funded project and will begin mobilization at the end of the month. The project is anticipated to span six weeks with work following the standard city policy from 7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday.
