Three Steamboat Springs swimmers competed at the Colorado Senior Long Course State Championships in Denver over the weekend, with some top results.
It was the first time for 15-year-old Zoe Anfang to compete in the 15 and over age group. Here are her results.
- 10th 200-meter Butterfly
- 11th 400-meter Individual Medley
- 12th 1500-meter Freestyle (This was only her second time racing the mile and she dropped 25 seconds off her time from her qualifying swim two weeks before.)
- 31st 200-meter Breaststroke
It was the first time for 13-year-old Oliver Catlett to compete in the 13-14 age group. Here are his results.
- 32nd 50-meter freestyle, dropping nearly half a second
- Oliver also received 3rd place overall in the 12 and Under division at the CO CSI Long Course Open June 16-18 in Denver.
Here are the results for 14-year-old Vaughn Higgins.
- 13th 100-meter Backstroke (dropping nearly two seconds)
- 13th 50-meter Freestyle (dropping over one second)
This is the last meet for these Steamboat Springs swimmers before their practice pool at Old Town Hot Springs is closed in late August for nine months, for a new pool to be built.
