The Demolition Derby is at 7:30 p.m. Friday night, Aug. 18, at the Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden.

Contestants are still needed. A $50 pre-registration is due by Monday, Aug. 14. Derby classes include:
- Compact Car
- Full-size Car
- Mid-size Truck
- Full-size Truck
Drivers must be at least 16 years old and have permission from their parents, if under 18. Your vehicle has to pass inspection. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants must be work and it is recommended that clothes are fire resistant. Goggles are also encouraged. Passengers aren’t allowed, except during the parade lap at the beginning. All air bags must be removed.
Also this year, a group of heavy hitters called Smash MS is participating. Their slogan is “Spreading awareness for Multiple Sclerosis, one derby at a time.” They even have a merchandise line. https://www.smashmsco.com
