Kids loved Touch-A-Truck, hosted by the City of Steamboat Springs in the rodeo grounds parking lot Thursday.
Paul Franklin brought his 2 ½-year-old grandson, Joe.
“He got so excited he started to cry. Didn’t you, Joe? Yeah.”
That’s because there were fire trucks, emergency vehicles, police cars, city buses, the animal control vehicle, the Classic Air Medical Helicopter, and Routt County Search and Rescue vehicles.
There was even a big lawnmower and the Zamboni from Howelsen Ice Arena. Kids could climb right in and see it for themselves.
Megan Troiani is the Youth and Teen Supervisor for the city.
“I think all the kids had an amazing time. Big smiles on all their faces, and they all got to sit in a vehicle that they’ve never been in before.”
Touch-A-Truck today was such a success that the city hopes to do it again. And as if it could get any better, someone brought a puppy.
