Fraud Alert coming out of Routt, Moffat, and Grand County. It is about fraudulent phone calls being made to residents with someone saying they are a sheriff’s deputy and they need money or you’ll be arrested on a federal warrant. It isn’t true. If you get a call like that, report it to Craig Interagency Dispatch at 970-824-6501. Impersonating a peace officer is a felony.

Wrapping up the Routt County Fair over the weekend…
The Junior Livestock Auction was Saturday night, where the 4H kids auctioned off their animals. Many local businesses were there to purchase the animals and support the kids.
Goats and sheep were shown at the fair on Friday. Grand Champion Market Lamb goes to Kimberly Gray, who will be a sophomore at Hayden High School.
“I think we won because we worked together great. He’s the best lamb I have ever owned.”
Gray also won Grand Champion Steer and Grand Champion Meat Breed Ewe.
In Goats…
In the Market Goats, Grand Champion goes to Payton Baker.
“Buddy is a very powerful goat and the judge could have either hated him or loved him and I’m really glad that he loved him.”
Payton will be a junior at Hayden Valley High School.
Kayla Rossi won Grand Champion and Reserve for Meat Goats.

Then Kiss the Pig, the winner, local realtor Jon Wade, owner of The Steamboat Group, puckered up to kiss the Grand Champion Pig. The contest raised about $2,000 for the Junior 4H Livestock Judging Team.
Also at the fair, a beautiful custom bench was donated by the Lewis family of Routt County, in honor of their daughter and sister, Lacey, who loved the Routt County Fair. Here’s Lacey’s mom, Cathy Lewis.
“We did that because this was Lacey’s favorite place and we wanted her to be here in remembrance to the friends and community here. And I know she would love that, to have this bench here for her.”
Lacey was killed on the Front Range last summer by a woman who hit her in a Vehicular Homocide DUI case. That woman will spend 22 years in prison.
