Abandoned railroad ties are all along the tracks, from just east of Milner headed towards Phippsburg. Union Pacific crews have been replacing the old ties with new ones. Union Pacific says crews will collect them once the entire project in northwest Colorado is completed, which should be early next month.
Mike Jaixen is with Corporate Communications for Union Pacific. He says to please not touch those piles of railroad ties. “The ties are on railroad property, so for everyone’s safety, we ask that the public not trespass on Union Pacific’s property adjacent to the tracks.”
