A Grand County man died in a rafting accident Monday. The 38-year-old man has not yet been identified. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office says he was an experienced rafter, and was wearing a helmet and personal flotation device when he fell overboard. It happened in the Colorado River, at Pyrite Rapids in the Gore Canyon, outside of Kremmling. Grand County Search and Rescue and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. They got a lot of help from a Union Pacific Railroad crew that was able to get them to the area were the man’s body was able to be pulled out of the water.
