There were three accidents with injuries in Routt County over the weekend.
- The first was at 7:45 p.m. Saturday night, when a 39-year-old man from Oak Creek man went off the road on county road 14, hit a tree and rolled. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and Colorado State Patrol is investigating for excessive speed.
- About two hours later, there was a rollover in North Routt County on County Road 129 with five teenagers in the car. Colorado State Patrol says the 18-year-old male driver fled the scene and couldn’t be found by Routt County Search and Rescue. But he had to be taken to the hospital the next morning. Three 17-year-old females were taken to the hospital. One had to be airlifted. All four were from Steamboat Springs. An 18-year-old male passenger had minor injuries and is from Clark. Colorado State Patrol says alcohol was a factor and no one had on a seatbelt, and they will be following up on charges against the driver.
- The third accident was Sunday morning along Highway 40 just west of Milner. Colorado State Patrol says a Dodge truck driven by a 27-year-old man from Craig hit a 17-year-old male cyclist from Steamboat Springs who was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. That accident is also under investigation.
