This is the last weekend for the Steamboat Springs Farmers Market. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on Yampa Street.
Lisa Popovich manages the Farmers Market for Main Street Steamboat Springs.
“I have to be there no later than 5:30 in case someone didn’t move their car. So I’m always here by 5:30 at the latest.”
There are 175 spaces for vendors at the market each week.
“The market was great this summer. We had a lot of nice people here this year. It’s always a great local favorite, so you see all your friends down here. But I met some really nice people from across the country this year. It’s been busy, right up here until the end.”
Marie Winter sells jewelry at the Northern Lights tent.
“One can never complain about this Farmers Market. Ever. It has the friendliest vendors. It has always a very busy set of customers that want to spend money and bring something back from Steamboat. (:16) And Lisa does a very good job of making it very varied considering we’re not really a Farmers Market, we’re more of a Community Market because we don’t get a lot of produce. And she makes sure that all of the vendors are very, very friendly and helpful to the others, and we literally sign a contract. So that’s why I like it.”
Michelle and Colby Townsend are at the Farmers Market each week, selling fresh eggs and meats from their chicken farm in Hayden.
“We’ve had a great time this summer and it’s just been really exciting getting to see our customers face to face and really interacting with them and getting away from the farm to share our products with them.”
Remember to bring your reusable bags and your appetite to Saturday’s last Farmers Market of the season.

One more thing this Saturday, the Plein Air Painters will be doing a Quick Draw event. There will be about 75 painters from across the country painting the scenery at the Farmers Market in the morning. Then at about noon, you can buy the art, and it benefits the Steamboat Art Museum.

Moffat County and Soroco both have byes this weekend.
The Hayden Tigers have a home game at 1 p.m. Saturday against Dayspring Christian Academy from Greeley.
The Sailors soccer team hosts Palisade at 11 a.m. Saturday. We’ll also be doing play-by-play on that one.
In Cross Country, the Moffat County Bulldogs are hosting the Steamboat Sailors in a meet on Saturday at Loudy-Simpson Park in Craig.
The CNCC Spartan Showdown is at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings at the Moffat County Fairgrounds in Craig with about 300 rodeo athletes competing.
The Fast & the Furriest 5K-9 Fun Run and Walk is Saturday morning, supporting the Routt County Humane Society. It starts at 10 a.m. from Howelsen Hill Lodge.
The Steamboat Open Pickleball Tournament is this weekend, at the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center. It benefits “Stop Alzheimer’s Now,” and the local pickleball group.
An ABC Hockey Tournament is Saturday at Howelsen Ice Arena, supporting local firefighters.
Saturday is also the first day of fall.
