Deerwood Ranch, which is 30 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming, is inviting the public to an Open Day this Saturday, Sept. 30. It’s to see about 350 Wyoming BLM wild horses that will be available for adoption. The free event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both male and female yearlings will be available, as will some gentle burros, all looking for new homes.

Experience the Beauty of Wyoming’s Wild Horses at Deerwood Ranch Open Day

 

Laramie, Wyoming – September 30, 2023 – Calling all horse enthusiasts and nature lovers! Deerwood Ranch, a private haven for over 350 Wyoming BLM wild horses, is opening its doors to the public for a captivating Open Day on Saturday, September 30th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event promises an unforgettable experience for families, individuals, and wildlife advocates.

Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Location: Deerwood Ranch, 30 miles west of Laramie, WY, in the picturesque Centennial Valley

 

No reservations are required, and admission is absolutely FREE!

 

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with non-gentled BLM yearlings, both male and female, who will be available for adoption. Additionally, gentle burros will also be looking for new homes. BLM representatives will be onsite to answer questions and assist with adoption applications.

 

Delectable Offerings:

 

• Enjoy a mouthwatering lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring Dave Herring’s famous smoked meat sandwiches and sides. All proceeds will benefit the Shawn Herring Memorial Foundation. Cash payments are encouraged.
• Satisfy your sweet tooth with delectable bakery items, jams, jellies, and sourdough bread.
• Discover a range of unique gift items, including T-shirts, photo notecards, hides, jewelry, and home décor, all showcasing the spirit of Wyoming.
• Explore a selection of Wyoming-made products, celebrating the state’s rich heritage.
• Indulge in raw dairy products such as milk, goat milk, and goat cheese.

 

Farmers Market Meets Artistic Fair:

 

This year, the event features several vendors, creating a vibrant Farmers Market/Artistic Fair atmosphere. Fall will be in the air, and there’s no better way to embrace the season.

 

Wild Horse Tours:

 

Take a guided tractor or pick-up ride to witness the splendor of the 360+ wild horses that call Deerwood Ranch their home. Tours to view these magnificent creatures will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., departing every half hour. Don’t miss the last tour at 2 p.m. for an awe-inspiring experience.
