THE MEMORIAL REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION PURCHASES BOOKS FOR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS
The Memorial Regional Health Foundation Board of Trustees approved a donation of $1,000 to Memorial Regional Health Pediatrics to provide new books during wellness child visits. During the year 2024, MRH will provide a new hardback book to our pediatric patients at each wellness visit. Pediatric patients will be able to take a new book home to enjoy.
Dr. Couillard, MRH Pediatrician would like to promote literacy – starting from the newborn period. In pediatrics we will be able to provide a new, age appropriate book, and literature regarding the importance of reading with children, from birth to 17yrs old. Dr. Couillard started this program years ago to promote children’s health and wellness through literacy. Dr. Couillard said “MRH appreciates the Foundation’s donation to promote literacy in the community.”
Eva Peroulis, MRH Foundation Director said she hopes the Foundation will continue this donation on an annual basis. The books enhance the child’s experience and help minimize anxiety during doctor visits.
