In the state football playoffs…

“I truly can’t be more proud of this team and proud of these kids and proud of these coaches. All of my emotions are with those kids. I’m so proud and so happy for them.”

The #12 ranked Bulldogs will have to continue making big upsets to advance, as they play #1 ranked and undefeated Delta at 1 p.m. this Saturday. That game will be in Delta. Listen on 93.7 KRAI.

The Routt County Board of County Commissioners meets Tuesday morning, Nov. 14. The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m.

Agenda

Routt County Commissioner Tim Redmond is the recipient of the 2023 Edie Award from the Economic Development Council of Colorado. Redmond was chosen as the Volunteer of the Year.

Commissioner Tim Redmond was selected as this year’s ‘Volunteer of the Year’ for his achievements in the following activities:

  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership in economic development for a three-county region, leading efforts to reconstitute an intergovernmental agreement to address the devastating economic and social impacts from a coalmine shutdown.
  • Advocates for regionalism, bridging trust gaps with neighboring counties, building collaborative relationships to tackle economic diversification and resiliency; workforce development; affordability housing; access to child care; and regional transportation.
  • Commissioner Redmond’s vision and leadership has moved the region forward at an accelerated pace that is inclusive of all three counties and seven communities.
  • Serves on the DOLA Energy Impact Assistance Advisory Board, Rocky Mountain Youth Corp., a member of the El Pomar Foundation Northwest Council with a focus on child care, economic development, and the coal transition along with housing and workforce development, and finally, volunteers as a mentor for Partners of Routt County.

The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners also meets Tuesday morning. Staff reports are from Dan Miller in Road & Bridge about a culvert bid recommendation, Todd Wheeler with the Office of Emergency Management about a bid on an automated external defibrillator, Office of Develop Services where Neil Binder will discuss asphalt paving for the courthouse parking lot, and also from Rachel Bower in HR. Commissioners will hear a presentation from Zane Kessler and Tom Gray from the Colorado River Conservation District.

The Colorado AgrAbility Project is hosting a Winter Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the annex of the historic Routt County Courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs. The project provides assistance to Colorado farmers and ranchers, and their families, to help them keep working despite illness and injuries. Lunch is included.
