Four SSHS students qualify for International Thespian Festival in 2024

Four Steamboat Springs Drama Troupe students have qualified for the International Thespian Festival in Indiana in June. They are Emma Griffith, Ruby Frank, Rowan Toldstedt, and Bryson Lee.

 

 

There were 36 Steamboat Springs High School students competing and participating in workshops at the regional competition in Denver over the weekend. Workshops included musical theatre dance, specialty lighting, play writing and the very popular special effects makeup.

 

Here’s the list of those making it to the International Thespian Festival. While called an international competition, it is actually a national event

  • Emma Griffith (Freshman) – Solo Musical Theater,1st year competing and making it to Nationals.
  • Ruby Frank (Junior) – Solo Musical Theater, 3rd year competing and 3rd time making it to Nationals.
  • Bryson Lee (Senior) – Solo Musical Theater, 3rd year competing, 2nd time making it to Nationals.
  • Rowan Tolstedt (Senior) – Solo Musical Theater, 2nd year competing, 2nd time making it to Nationals.

Ruby Frank and Bryson Lee will also be competing with a Musical theater duet at the International Thespian Festival.

 

The spring play for the SSHS Drama Troupe is Shrek the Musical, March 21-23, 2024.

2024 International Thespian Festival; June 23-28, 2024
