Jackson County rancher Don Gittleson says he’s had another wolf attack of a calf on his property Wednesday. Colorado Parks and Wildlife went out to the ranch and we are waiting for confirmation. We have also asked CPW to confirm if the 10(J) Rule of lethal management can be used for the two Jackson County wolves, that are responsible for the deaths of three dogs, three sheep, and multiple head of cattle. Don Gittleson also asked CPW to implement lethal management.
Gittleson says he’s hoping the calf can recover from her injuries. He has been treating her with antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories for the pain and swelling.

Local wrestling teams are competing at a wrestling tournament in Grand Junction Friday and Saturday. The Hayden, Steamboat Springs, and Moffat County wrestlers are all there. It’s the first with the team for Sailor Head coach Tyler Seislove, after coaching in Moffat County. He says it’s a young team with five seniors and a lot of freshmen.
“It looks like a solid set of experienced seniors that we’re going to have to rely on to bring some leadership, because overall we have a really young group. Five seniors, five juniors, two sophomores, and the rest are freshman. It will be a year of a lot of growing and a lot of developing, focusing on getting better every single day.
