Steamboat Springs High School has an Alpine Ski Team and a Nordic Ski Team. There are five students competing on BOTH teams, and they are called the SkiMeisters. Aspen Bennett-Manke is a senior SkiMeister.

“It’s super special to be a SkiMeister because it’s combining two sports that are completely different and just making them one. I wish more people would do it. But either way, it’s still fun.”

 

It means double the travel time and competitions for the five SkiMeisters. In addition to Aspen, there is Evie Fisher, Quinn Skinner, Michael Hagney, and Nate Kottcamp.

 

The Steamboat Sailors Alpine Ski Team has their next meet Jan. 12 at Winter Park. The Sailor Alpine Nordic Ski Team has a meet Jan. 20 at the Steamboat Springs Touring Center.
