The relocation of wolves from Oregon to Colorado is complete. Colorado Parks and Wildlife has captured ten gray wolves and released them onto state-owned public land in Summit and Grand counties. This completes the agreement with Oregon through at least March of next year.
All of the wolves are collared and tracked by CPW.

The two wolves in Jackson County will not be lethally removed from Jackson County, at least not right now. The wolves there are responsible for killing or injuring seven of Don Gittleson’s cows and at least 20 domestic animals in Jackson County since at least December 2021.
Gittleson asked Colorado Parks and Wildlife to implement the 10(J) Rule and lethally remove those two wolves as chronic depredators.
The Director of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Jeff Davis, sent a letter to Gittleson last week saying the pack dynamics have changed so they won’t remove those two wolves, but they’ll monitor the situation and continue to work with livestock producers in Jackson County and across the state.
CPW DENIES GITTLESON’S REQUEST TO IMPLEMENT 10(J) RULE ON JACKSON COUNTY WOLVES
Article from The Colorado Sun; Friday, Dec. 22 Rules for lethal control of wolves are murky. Colorado ranchers say that sets them up for big livestock losses. Don Gittleson and Philip Anderson lost cattle and sheep to wolves, Gittleson as recently as Dec. 13. They want wildlife officials to define “chronic depredation” and deal with two problem wolves in North Park.
Remember, in the City of Craig, changes for trash pickup go into effect next week at this time. There will be a $5 charge for any trash left outside of the trash container. And you’ll have to call ahead and schedule it. You can purchase a 90-gallon container at half off right now, through June 30. Call the Craig Solid Waste Department. (970-826-2005)

Steamboat Springs High School has an Alpine Ski Team and a Nordic Ski Team. There are five students competing on BOTH teams, and they are called the SkiMeisters. Aspen Bennett-Manke is a senior SkiMeister.
“It’s super special to be a SkiMeister because it’s combining two sports that are completely different and just making them one. I wish more people would do it. But either way, it’s still fun.”
It means double the travel time and competitions for the five SkiMeisters. In addition to Aspen, there is Evie Fisher, Quinn Skinner, Michael Hagney, and Nate Kottcamp.
