The Routt County Sheriff’s Office reports that three people have died in Phippsburg. Sheriff’s officers were called to a welfare check in the 21000 block of 4th Street in Phippsburg today, where they found the bodies of 45-year-old James “Jake” Hill and two juveniles, ages three and seven. The Routt County Sheriff’s office says it is being investigated as a murder/suicide and there is no known danger to the community.

The Sheriff’s office is also asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to please contact their office at 970-870-5503.

The Sheriff’s Office also adds, “Our condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.”
