The Colorado Department of Local Affairs, known as DOLA, has awarded statewide nonprofits with $31,587,500.01 in grants. It’s part of the Nonprofit Infrastructure Grant Program for those communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic, which may have had limited access to state and federal assistance. The Yampa Valley Community Foundation received over 3.7 million dollars $3,702,220.07 for 56 nonprofits in Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Garfield, and Eagle counties.
LOCAL NONPROFITS RECEIVE $3.7 MILLION FROM DOLA
Steamboat Resort is now 100% open. That’s after the remainder of Fish Creek Canyon has opened. The resort sends a shout out to ski patrol for all of their hard work. Thursday night is Sunset Happy Hour.
The 24th Annual Airline Partners Summit wraps up at Steamboat Resort Wednesday. Airline industry representatives and partners in the travel industry, as well as elected representatives from Routt and Moffat counties heard speakers Tuesday from Steamboat Resort, Southwest and United Airlines.
Jared Smith is the President and CEO of Alterra Mountain Company, which owns Steamboat Resort. He was one of the guest speakers.
“Our mission is to shape the future of mountain adventure which is to say we’re committed to building on the heritage and history that each one of our unique communities like Steamboat has created over decades and decades in this industry, and to make it better, to make it more inclusive, to make it easier for people to enjoy these wonderful lands that we have the privilege to be able to operate on.”
Northwest Colorado is served by six airlines with 16 non-stop airports. Steamboat Resort Lead Dave Hunter spoke of the 8’ of snow Steamboat has received in January as well as the many improvements on the mountain with Full Steam Ahead. Pro Rodeo announcer John Shipley was the emcee of the Airline Summit.

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes Kat Cosby and Curtis Zanni both won their GS races at the U18 U.S. National Championship Qualifiers recently in Breckenridge. The next stop is slalom races in Michigan next month, to confirm who will represent the Rocky/Central Division in the U18 National Alpine Championships March 2-8 in Jackson, Wyoming.
