A mountain lion has been spotted coming up to buildings in the Copper Ridge area off Elk River Road in Steamboat Springs. Keep your pets safe.
The Moffat County School District would like to hear from stakeholders on what they’re looking for in a School District Superintendent. There is an online survey through the school district’s website at MoffatSD.org, and also on our website. The survey is in both English and Spanish and it opens today, and closes Feb. 1. Brad Meeks is serving as the interim superintendent right now.
Flights coming in to Yampa Valley Regional Airport Thursday has a 92% load factor with 1,740 passengers. Outbound flights were about half that, at 46%.

The Tread of Pioneers Museum in Steamboat Springs has a feature exhibit on the late Buddy Werner, beginning today. Buddy Werner was the first American downhill and slalom skier to compete with the Europeans, which dominated the sport. He died in an avalanche 60 years ago, on April 12. The exhibit is a tribute to the legendary skier from Steamboat Springs.
The Eco Club at Steamboat Springs High School is hosting a climate demonstration on the courthouse lawn Friday. They’ll be building snowmen with signs about climate change that the snowmen will hold. It’s at 4 p.m. and folks are invited to help. Hot cocoa will be provided as will the snowman-building-supplies.
The Community Ag Alliance is hosting a Farm-to-Table Brunch with locally-raised meat, eggs, cheese, and seasonal produce. There is also a Build-Your-Own Cocktail Bar. It’s at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28 at Primrose. Tickets can be purchased through CommunityAgAlliance.org
In sports…
The Moffat County Bulldogs host BOTH Steamboat Sailors basketball teams tonight in Craig. The girls play first at 5:30 p.m. Emma Tucker is a senior for the Bulldogs.
“I’m really excited to play Steamboat because they’re our rivals and I think it’s always a good game, and they’re really aggressive and I think that’s fun to match when we’re playing basketball against them.”

“We’ve played against them since middle school so it’s a lot like playing familiar faces and fun people that you already know. And they’re really good so it’s a good challenge.”
The girls start at 5:30 p.m. The boys game starts right after the girls, around 7 p.m. Listen to those games on KRAI 93.7 and 102.3.
Then after the games tonight, Partners for Youth in Moffat County is inviting middle school and high school aged kids to free bowling at Thunder Rolls. It’s from 9-11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26.
Moffat County has home basketball games Saturday against Rifle. The Varsity girls start at 2:30 p.m. and the boys are at 4 p.m.
The Sailors are at home against Coal Ridge Saturday. The girls play at 12:30 p.m. and the boys are at 2 p.m. Listen on KTYV 105.7 Sports on FM.
SoRoCo Basketball is away at West Grand tonight, and hosts Hayden on Saturday. The Tigers host Rangely tonight.

It’s Senior Night tonight for the Steamboat Sailors Hockey Team. The Sailors are taking on the Glenwood Demons at Howelsen Ice Arena. The Senior Ceremony starts at 7 p.m. and the game is right after that. There are 11 seniors. Listen to Vladan Chase make the call on KTYV 105.7 Sports on FM.

Saturday night is Senior Night for the U19 Girls Hockey team. There are five seniors. The ceremony starts at 7:15 p.m. Saturday then the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. against Aspen, at Howelsen Ice Arena.
