Routt County 4-H youth have been in Denver this week. The students from Oak Creek, Hayden, and Steamboat Springs participated in the 4-H Leadership Development Council. They joined 210 4-H youth from across the state of Colorado, where they participated in leadership workshops, a 4-H dance, and 4-H Day at the Capitol.

They toured the State Capitol and attended the 4-H proclamation in the Colorado House and Senate.

They also met with Senator Dylan Roberts, Representative Meghan Lukens, and Speaker of the House Julie McCluskie.

4-H & Youth Development Extension Specialist Tami Eggers writes, “It is amazing to see these youth interested in our government and how it works, asking questions and seeing a career pathway available to them.  I am honored to be able to share these life changing leadership opportunities with our local youth.”
