Nine Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes are in Alaska, Feb. 27-March 2, to compete in the Ski Jumping Nordic Combined Junior Championships in Anchorage. They are Mckenzie Maines, Piper Mouttet, Ethan Maines, Austin Johnson, Nico Bowdre, Everett Baldwin, Fritz Gamber, Kaden Graham, and Miles Warnke.
Six other Winter Sports Club athletes qualified but couldn’t attend as they are returning from competing in Slovenia and the Junior World Ski Championships, and other World Cup events. They are: Ella Wilson, Haley Brabec, Jason Colby, Sawyer Graves, Arthur Tirone, and Estella Hassrick.
Coaches Garrett Fisk and Todd Wilson will join the athletes for the trip.
The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage, Alaska (NSAA) will host the best athletes in the country competing for Junior Championship titles with three ski jumping events and two Nordic Combined events.
