
Thursday, Feb. 29 is the deadline for paying the first half of property taxes. This is for taxpayers who pay their taxes in two equal installments. The second half is due June 17, unless you pay one big payment which must be paid by April 30. This is not for those who pay through a mortgage escrow account.

FIRST HALF PROPERTY TAX REMINDER
Routt County, CO, February 26, 2024 – Routt County Treasurer and Public Trustee Lane Iacovetto reminds taxpayers that Thursday, February 29, 2024 is the deadline for paying the first half of your property taxes. This deadline is for taxpayers who pay their taxes in two equal installments; the second half is due June 17. Taxpayers who choose to pay the full amount in one payment must pay by April 30. Please submit payment with the payment coupon included with your tax notice.
For your convenience, there are several ways to make your payment:
- Property taxes can be paid online by credit/debit card or electronic check. There are no fees for electronic check payments.
- You may also mail payments to Routt County Treasurer at 522 Lincoln Ave. Suite 22 in Steamboat Springs, CO 80487. Payments mailed with a US Postal Service postmark on or before February 29 will be considered timely.
- If you would like to pay in-person, our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- There are also two drop box locations for your convenience. Our secure 24-hour drop box is located adjacent to the ballot drop off box located in the alleyway behind the historic, downtown Courthouse at 522 Lincoln Avenue in Steamboat Springs, CO. Do not drop payments in the ballot drop off box. There is also the Green Tax Payment box outside the Treasurer’s Office door, Suite 22 in the historic, downtown Courthouse, clearly marked “TAX PAYMENTS.”

Per Colorado Revised Statutes, failure to meet the deadlines results in the assessment of delinquent interest for late payment.
