Today is Super Tuesday. Turn in your Presidential Primary ballots by 7 p.m. tonight, at the courthouse, or in a secure dropbox. Postmarks do not count.

 The next primary is in June, followed by the November presidential election. Those interested in being an election judge can sign up through your party caucuses. Those unaffiliated can contact the County Clerk.

The Moffat County School District would like community input on the search for a school district superintendent. All are invited from 5-7 p.m. tonight, in the board room of the Moffat County School District admin building, which is at 600 Texas Ave. in Craig.  Brad Meeks is currently serving as the interim superintendent for the district.

 

Steamboat Springs City Council meets at 5 p.m. tonight. The Steamboat Rugby Club plans to attend to talk about playing the 50th Cow Pie Classic this summer, on the Emerald Park Fields, since the Ski Town fields will be unavailable because of renovation.

 

Three Steamboat Springs medical professionals are in Vietnam on a charity outreach mission. Dr. Patrick Johnston is with Joan Donham and Emily Tjosveld from Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute. They are helping operate on children and adults, and training local surgeons and health care providers. The trip is organized with the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

The public restrooms on 7th Street in downtown Steamboat Springs will be closed for most of the day for some plumbing work that has to get done.

From Steamboat Creates: Steamboat Creates is looking for hilarious, silly, unique Steamboat/Yampa Valley stories that would make a great skit or song for the 42nd annual Cabaret showcase, May 1-4. This local variety show is all about finding laughter in the quirks and characters in the Yampa Valley and beyond. You can submit material in two ways. Either in person at 6 p.m. on March 12 at the Depot Art Center or by email to cabaretdirectors@gmail.com by March 11.  Talent auditions will follow up on March 19 at the Depot Arts Center. Questions? Opening ceremonies for the 2024 NCAA Nordic and Alpine Ski Championships are at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, in Steamboat Square at the base of the ski area. Right after that, there is a luau dance party at the base and at Skeeter’s Ice Rink.

 Then Wednesday, it’s the men’s and women’s Giant Slalom for the NCAA National Championships on the slopes of Steamboat Ski Resort.

In hockey, the Steamboat Stampede 19U girls team won the state championship tournament over the weekend. The younger girls teams are playing this coming weekend. That’s the 10Us and 12Us, for the state championships in their division.
