STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – The U.S. U18 Alpine Skiing National Championships wrapped up in Jackson, Wyoming on Friday, March 8, and Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes took home medals in every discipline. After over a week of epic snowfall, postponements, and cancellations, the mountain race crews on Snow King and Jackson Hole pulled off six of the ten races planned: giant slalom, slalom, and Super G races for both genders. Downhill training days and race days were canceled.
The races started one day late on Sunday, March 3, with men’s giant slalom and women’s slalom races. In the men’s giant slalom race on the same day, Adrian Beauregard cracked the top 20 with a 13th place.

On Monday, March 4 women raced giant slalom and men raced slalom, and it was Katharina Cosby’s turn to stand on the podium with a 2nd place finish in the giant slalom, and Hazel Fernley made an impressive jump from bib 52 to 15th place. For the men, Adrian Beauregard was 4th in the slalom. Races didn’t resume until Friday due to more snow and soft conditions. The downhill races were canceled earlier in the week, but the Super G races, the last races in the series, took place on Friday morning.
