Snowy winter weather is headed to the state again. Southwest and United Airlines have issued Colorado travel alerts ahead of the storm. This includes DIA and Yampa Valley Regional Airport for both airlines. United has also issued travel alerts for Casper, Cheyenne, and Laramie in Wyoming. Customers set to travel Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday can reschedule their trips at no cost for a limited time, so check with your airline before flying.
Routt County has committed to $100,000 in helping towards the historic renovation of the old VFW Building at 924 Lincoln Ave. The amount raised to date for the renovation of The Veterans Center is $2,325,000, from donations across the United States. The goal is $3M. Construction is expected to begin May 1 with a completion date of April 2025.
Donations are still being accepted through Yampa Valley Community Foundation.
Bowling Against Bullying is March 13. The event supports the Youth Programs of REPS which is Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide. It is open to all ages. There are two sessions tonight at Snow Bowl. Registration information is at NWCOSuicidePrevention.com
- “Youth Ambassador Program” (a group open to all 8th-12th graders)
- “Hope Squad” (a peer-to-peer High School program)
- “High School Education” (mental health & suicide prevention presentations in High Schools)
- “It Takes Courage” (educational program in Middle Schools)
These programs are dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of caring for our mental health and decreasing incidents of suicide through education and by providing our youth with the tools that instill courage and inspire growth of empathetic communities.
There is a special performance at Strings Music Festival tonight. LUNASA is an Irish acoustic band. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $35. Link for tickets

Four Steamboat Springs soccer players have been chosen to participate in the 2024 West Regional Camp this summer in Salt Lake City. It’s a Mountain Select team, which is similar to an Olympic Development Program. The four Steamboat players are Sadie Hartman, Simon Kaplan, Will Hall, and Charlie Weidel.
