It’s a busy weekend, and one big activity for Northwest Colorado, and much of the rural parts of the state is Meat-In Day. Moffat and Routt County residents are celebrating Meat-In Day on Saturday, March 23. It’s a way for agriculture producers to recognize the importance of agriculture during Ag Appreciation Week.
In Craig, the Moffat County Cattlemen are hosting a Meat-In Gathering from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Alice Pleasant Park in Downtown Craig. Mendy Rhyne with Moffat County Cattlewomen says it’s a chance to support local producers.
“We like to inform the public about why agriculture is so important and what it does for our community, and what agriculture brings to the table, to Moffat County, like literally!”
FFA Alumni will be serving lunch. The Moffat County Fair Royalty team will be there. More details are on the Moffat County AgVocates Facebook page.
Meat-In Day for Routt County is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Creek View Grill in Hayden. There will be music and free burgers all day courtesy of local ranchers. Cookie Lockhart will be there playing her Heads & Tails games and hosting a live auction. The 4th Annual Meat-In Day in Routt County is a benefit for The Veterans Center renovation project, in downtown Steamboat Springs.
