Moffat County High School Drama Troupe presents R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots) for their spring play performance. It’s this Thursday through Saturday, April 11-13.
There are two sets of lead actors. Guadalupe Lopez and Ronin Miller (pictured) will alternate with Gabriel Klingbeil and Marie Roberts.
Maryann Booker plays Alquist (on the right).
“Rossum’s Universal Robots is a really old niche play. It’s extremely interesting. It applies really well to today. It’s about the robot takeover and how developing machinery too far can lead to destruction. It’s melodrama. It’s extremely interesting and has a wonderful array of characters with very heavy emotions. It’s a really interesting play.”
Juliann Matheson is the director, who says she is extremely proud of the students in the production. There are over 70 students, staff, and community members involved.
There are also five stage crew and four light/sound techs helping with the performance.
The shows start at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 11-13, with a special matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday. Let the Robot Revolution begin! Tickets are $8 per ticket, available at the door.
