Two SoRoCo High School seniors celebrated their upcoming college plans in the high school commons Wednesday.
Larhae Whaley will be wrestling at Dickinson State in North Dakota in the fall. Whaley made the podium all four years in the Colorado State Wrestling Championships.
“My big decision was I didn’t want to regret not wrestling after high school, and when the opportunity presented itself, I guess I just kind of pursued it. And then at Dickinson it had what I wanted academically which is to go for ag education so it all just worked out.”
Olivia Rossi will attend Butler Community College in Kansas where she will be on the Collegiate Livestock Judging Team.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to compete on a Collegiate Livestock Judging Team since I joined the Routt County 4H Livestock Judging program when I was 10. so it’s really a dream come true and I’m really excited for the opportunity to continue out with my last couple years with judging.”
The families of both girls joined them at the celebration Wednesday morning at SoRoCo High School
