The Craig Rotary Club is looking for sponsors of the American Flags that line Victory Way and Yampa Avenue in Craig. There’s about 250 flags.

Here’s Randy Looper with Craig Rotary.

“The goal is to make Craig look great during the holidays, so by putting flags from one end to the east of town to the west end of town, every 90 feet, lining Victory Way, it’s just amazing to see and great for Craig and people love it.”

It’s $85 per flag per year. This is the 18th year for the flags, which are on display on Victory Way throughout the holidays in summer and fall. Reach out to the Craig Rotary Club through their website or Facebook page, or email CraigRotaryClub@gmail.com

Press Release from Craig Rotary Club; May 20, 2024.

Dear Community Member,

The Rotary Club of Craig is offering you the opportunity to help show your community support for Craig and the USA. This year will be the 18th year of our American flag project. We are asking businesses and community members to sponsor flags, and the Rotary Club will display them throughout town on the following holidays:

  • Memorial Day (Monday, May 27th)
  • Flag Day (Friday, June 14th)
  • July 4th (Thursday, July 4th)
  • Colorado Day (Tuesday, August 1st)
  • Patriot Day (Wednesday, September 11th)
  • Columbus/Indigenous People Day (Monday, October 14th)
  • Veteran’s Day (Monday, Nov 11th)

On Yampa Avenue, the flags are placed on the light poles on both sides of the street from 4th St. to 6th St. We will leave these flags up from May 30 – November 11 and replace them as needed. On Victory Way, the flags will be placed on both sides of the street starting at Lincoln St. and heading West every 100 feet to Finley Lane. This past year we had 231 flags sponsored and we are hoping to have even more sponsors this year.

Flags may be placed on a smaller section of Victory Way due to inclement weather or as asked for some extra events throughout the year. Flags are not placed for winter holidays due to safety concerns.

It is really nice to drive through town with Old Glory lining the way. What a great way to impress visitors driving through the area, perhaps making them want to stop and explore, or return another time. The price to purchase a flag sponsorship and take part in this wonderful program is $85 per flag, per year. You may purchase as many flags as you wish. All sponsors will be recognized at the beginning and at the end of our flag year. Please help us to spread our pride all through Craig.
