An extensive renovation has been underway in Toponas, in South Routt County. And they’re having a big dinner and dance to celebrate.
Toponas Hall was relocated next to an old lettuce shed. It was originally built in the early 1900s when the area was known for its lettuce production. The Toponas Hall is a longstanding gathering place for the community in Upper Egeria Park.
Here’s Kelly Gates who is the president of the Toponas Community Club, with more on the history of the building.
The Toponas Community Club has partnered with Historic Routt County in the past. Now, the group is a 501(c)3 organization that can accept donations for future improvements. Any donations can be made to: Toponas Community Club, P.O. Box 222, Toponas, CO 80479
Now, they’re having a big fundraiser on June 22 to start phase one of critical work on the well, rehabilitation, plumbing and other issues. Marissa Perry, who is helping coordinate the events, writes, “We firmly believe that the future and sustainability of rural communities depend on social gathering places like the Toponas Hall.”
The Toponas Community Club is having a dinner and dance to celebrate at Toponas Hall. It’s from 5:30-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Jarrod Sterrett and The Hired Guns will be playing. RSVP and pay at the door, with the QR Code on the flyer below.
