UPDATE SATURDAY MORNING: There is no viewing from Bald Eagle Lake. Spectators are not allowed. Instead, go to the Meadows Parking Lot. Two balloons will be launching there. You can watch them get ready and lift off. The ski area has breakfast burritos, coffee, hot chocolate and more. DJ Shan Dawg is playing music. It’s festive and fun.
Once again, there are NOT shuttles to Bald Eagle Lake.

Yampa Valley Balloon Rodeo is looking for lodging for pilots during the event, July 25-28. This can be hotel rooms, condos, or homes. Call Sharon at 304-552-3607 if you can help. Thirty-two hot air pilots from across the country will be flying over the Yampa Valley. Spectators are welcome in the Meadows Parking Lot early each morning. A Balloon Glow is Saturday night at the base of Steamboat Resort. If you want a Balloon Glow at your house, call Karen Beauvais with Coldwell Banker.

Balloon festivals are scheduled again this summer in both Steamboat Springs and Craig.
The Yampa Valley Balloon Rodeo returns to Steamboat Springs this summer with the event scheduled for July 26-28. Balloons will take off from various locations throughout the Yampa Valley, with a few around Bald Eagle Lake as in the past.
Karen Beauvais and Scott Flower are again organizing the event.
“And it will be more colorful than you’ve ever, ever seen. We’re going to launch from various sites over Bald Eagle Lake and perhaps even by the ski area. No spectators on the field at Bald Eagle Lake, I’m sorry to say.”
Steamboat Resort is letting balloon organizers use the Meadows parking lot. People will be able to park there and watch several of the balloons lift off. There will be some food available from Steamboat Resort at the Meadows Lot. This is both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Balloons will be flying over Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley each morning.

Then Saturday night, there will be a Balloon Glow at the base of Steamboat Resort, followed by Movies on the Mountain. Balloons will be doing a Balloon Glow at different sites from throughout the Yampa Valley that night.
STARS and Yampa Valley Bank are joining forces to watch the Balloon Rodeo Sunday morning from the STARS Ranch, which is just south of Bald Eagle Lake. It includes breakfast. There is a cost and it benefits STARS, which is Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports. Sign up through SteamboatStars.com

In Craig, the Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival is Aug. 2-4 at Loudy-Simpson Park. Balloons launch each morning, weather permitting. Saturday has live music all day with food vendors, arts and crafts, the Cardboard Boat Regatta, bounce houses, and the Colorado Cruisers Classic Car show. Find out more atMCBalloonFestival.com
