The Yampa Valley Balloon Rodeo is back, July 26-28. Balloons will take off from various locations throughout the Yampa Valley, with a few around Bald Eagle Lake as in the past.
Karen Beauvais and Scott Flower are again organizing the event.
“And it will be more colorful than you’ve ever, ever seen. We’re going to launch from various sites over Bald Eagle Lake and perhaps even by the ski area. No spectators on the field at Bald Eagle Lake, I’m sorry to say.”
Steamboat Resort is letting balloon organizers use the Meadows parking lot. People will be able to park there and watch several of the balloons lift off. There will be some food available from Steamboat Resort at the Meadows Lot. This is both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Balloons will be flying over Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley each morning.
Then Saturday night, July 27, there will be a Balloon Glow at the base of Steamboat Resort, followed by Movies on the Mountain. Balloons will be doing a Balloon Glow at different sites from throughout the Yampa Valley that night.
STARS and Yampa Valley Bank are joining forces to watch the Balloon Rodeo Sunday morning from the STARS Ranch, which is just south of Bald Eagle Lake. It includes breakfast. There is a cost and it benefits STARS, which is Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports. Sign up through SteamboatStars.com
