Tubing in the Yampa River

It’s tubing time on the Yampa River. Flows on the Yampa River have dropped below 700 cubic feet per second (cfs) this week which traditionally signals the start of tubing season for commercial and recreational users. But the city says water is still moving fast and it’s cold so be aware and be careful. Wear a life vest and river shoes, and possibly a helmet.

In Craig, those who are tubing in the Pebble Beach to Loudy Simpson area must exit on the right side of the area of the Craig Whitewater Park.

Report from Moffat County Sheriff’s Office

Steamboat Springs has a new park and open space. It’s a 187-acre parcel called Slate Creek. It’s on the west side of town behind Copper Ridge. Steamboat Springs City Council unanimously approved the purchase for $5.25 million. Parks and Recreation staff envisions a regional park with open space and trails.

The owners of Snow Bowl in Steamboat Springs have announced the purchase of Tavern at The Glen. That’s the long-time restaurant at Glen Eden Resort in Clark, up in North Routt County. It re-opened on June 15.
