The owners of Snow Bowl in Steamboat Springs have announced the purchase of Tavern at The Glen. That’s the long-time restaurant at Glen Eden Resort in Clark, up in North Routt County. It re-opened on June 15.

Western Centers Announces the Opening of Tavern at The Glen

Western Centers, the Colorado-based real estate investment and management company behind Snow Bowl, Family Bowl, The Boathouse, The Boat Yard, and multiple commercial retail centers across the state is excited to announce their newest venture, Tavern at The Glen; a reopening of the long-time restaurant and event space located at the Glen Eden Resort in Clark, CO.

Embracing Glen Eden’s Western roots and the idyllic location on the way to North Routt adventures, Tavern at The Glen opened its doors on June 15th with décor to excite the outdoorsman and a menu heavy with Western flavor, but enhanced by modern culinary touches. Two different dining spaces make up Tavern at The Glen: the Trout Bar and the Elk Lounge (currently reserved for larger, private parties). In conjunction with restaurant operations, Tavern at The Glen is also responsible for booking the prestigious riverside event venue, The Lower Glen, at Glen Eden.

The Lower Glen is Western Centers’ fourth gathering space, joining The Boathouse, The Boat Yard, and Snow Bowl in Steamboat Springs. Perfect for party throwers who would like a remote Western feel to their celebration, The Lower Glen’s beautiful riverside meadow is frequently reserved for nature-inspired weddings along the Elk River. Surrounded by spruce, aspen, and cottonwood trees, The Lower Glen offers the ideal space for groups of 25-200, with room for heated tents, seating, and time spent around the bonfire.

For events hosted in The Lower Glen, Tavern at The Glen will offer specialized catering and onsite dining, with the option to host in the Elk Lounge accommodating indoor party needs.

Cabin rentals at Glen Eden will continue to be run by Glen Eden Resort, that will work in partnership with Tavern at The Glen to accommodate parties that are in need of event space and lodging.

“We’re excited to rejuvenate a space that has been loved by the North Routt community for decades,” said Lee Calihan, Venue Director for Tavern at The Glen and The Boathouse. “Tavern at The Glen is the perfect place to dine after a day spent on the lake or hiking in the mountains, or another great option is to order food to go for your day of activities. On the event side, it gives us flexibility to offer guests an indoor party space with onsite catering.”

Tavern at The Glen’s menu, crafted by Chef Pete List, uses local ingredients, including Wagyu Beef and produce from The Home Ranch, and is a testament to the skill of Routt County’s local farmers and ranchers. For weddings and special events, Chef List will offer gourmet party menus with finer crafted menu options.

“We have two types of clients at Tavern at The Glen,” said Chef List. “Those who want to stop in for a delicious Western meal, and those who want to host an event with catering to support one of the most memorable days of their life.”

List began his journey in the culinary arts at just nine years old. The early exposure instilled in him a deep passion for cooking, combined with a creativity enhanced by his love of the mountains from which he sources his choice ingredients.

Chef List previously ran the kitchen at Snow Bowl when it reopened its doors in 2017, and then led the Snow Bowl kitchen on a mission to provide free dinners to laid-off hospitality and industry employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic, which served 21,698 free meals. That love for his community will now reside in North Routt, at Tavern at The Glen.

Tavern at The Glen welcomes guests to stop by and enjoy a beverage or meal at the Trout Bar from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays, at Sundays, or from 4-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
