By Shannon Lukens. This is a picture of the Kum & Go/Maverik at Curve Plaza Saturday in Steamboat Springs.

UPDATE on Wednesday, July 24.

We again requested on Saturday from the corporate office for Maverik the confirmation on openings and closings, which are listed on their website. We heard back today.

Expected Store Closures & Reopening Dates

Megan Valentine is the External Communications Specialist for Maverik/Kum & Go. She sent the following on Wednesday, July 24, regarding our questions about what the website says and whether stations are actually open. She wrote, *We’ve determined our website reports the Grand Opening date of the store, not the first day it opens following rebranding (the “soft opening”), to ensure optimal experience for our new customers.”

  • #5368: 230 West Jefferson Avenue, Hayden

Soft opened 7/17 and celebrated its grand opening 7/23

  • #5008: 895 Yampa Ave, Craig

Soft opened 7/19 and celebrated its grand opening 7/23

  • #5115: 2032 Curve Plz, Steamboat Springs

Soft opened today (7/24) and will be celebrating its grand opening 7/30

We have called the Maverik station at Curve Plaza this morning (Wednesday) and there is no answer. A nearby business says the “closed” signs are still out front, despite the message above that says the station is open today. We will continue to call.

UPDATE on Saturday, July 20.

The Kum & Go rebranding to Maverik gas stations continues in Colorado.

The Hayden station opened three days earlier than scheduled, on Saturday, July 20, even though the website says July 23.

The Maverik website says the Craig station on Yampa Ave. is scheduled to re-open Tuesday, July 23.

The Kum & Go stores at 1302 W. Victory way in Craig, and the one at Curve Plaza in Steamboat Springs are closed until Tuesday, July 30.

Original story

Kum & Go stores are closing and re-opening as Maverik gas stations in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.  The Maverik website lists when each local store will close.

The switch has been made in Steamboat Springs, Kremmling, and Granby. Here’s video of the Steamboat Springs makeover.

The website says the kitchen at the Kum & Go on Jefferson Ave. in Hayden closes this Friday, July 12, with the entire store shutting down at 6 p.m. Monday, July 15, and it will reopen Tuesday, July 23, as Maverik.

There are three Kum & Go gas stations in Craig. The first to close will be the one at 700 East Victory Way. The kitchen is already closed. The rest of the store now closes on Tuesday, July 16, and will re-open, July 23. This is according to the Maverik website.

The kitchen in the Kum & Go at 895 Yampa Ave. in Craig closes Sunday, July 14, with the entire store closing on the evening of Wednesday, July 17, and re-opening July 23.

The Kum & Go at 1302 W. Victory Way in Craig is expected to close sometime next week. That date has not yet been updated on the website, but a previous date showed July 18 for five days.

Michelle Monson is the Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility Director for Maverik. She writes, “As part of the rebrand process, Maverik needs to close the Kum & Go kitchen for seven days prior to reopening as Maverik. Customers can continue to enjoy cold case items as well as bakery but hot items and those out of the warmer will not be available during this time. We look forward to fueling customers’ adventure at Maverik with delicious fresh-made BonFire food from burritos, salads, wraps, pizza, sandwiches and countless other hot and cold meal items!

She adds, “We loved serving our customers at Kum & Go and know they’re going to love their new local Maverik – known for its premium fresh-made BonFire food, great service, clean restrooms and awesome values on fuel, drinks, and snacks. For more information on Maverik visit: maverik.com. The new store will transition from &Rewards to Maverik’s Adventure Club loyalty program. Maverik’s Adventure Club members save on every gallon of fuel, earn free stuff, and get great deals – and can upgrade to the Nitro card to save even more including 10¢ a gallon or more on fuel! To start saving now at Maverik, and take advantage of an introductory special offer, simply download the Maverik Rewards app and create an account. We look forward to fueling our CO customers’ next adventure!”
