The Community Ag Alliance Market is closed Friday and headed to its new location. And it has a new name. Yampa Valley Foods will re-open next week at 35 11th Street, hopefully by Monday. No deliveries will be accepted until then either.
The winner of the 2024 Yampa Valley Crane Festival Poster Contest is 13-year-old Avery Marsh from Clark in North Routt County. Avery wins $100. Her poster will be on display throughout the Yampa Valley to promote the 13th annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival, Aug. 29-Sept. 1.
The Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival started today with balloons flying from Loudy-Simpson Park all over Craig. They’ll lift off bright and early, starting around 6 a.m. each day this weekend, weather permitting.
Saturday is fun all day at the park with the Flying Colors 5K for MRH, the Rubber Ducky Race at 11 a.m. for Northwest Colorado Health on the Ranney Street Bridge, the Cardboard Boat Regatta is at 1:30 p.m. The Colorado Cruisers will be there and there are plenty of activities for the kids. Live music starts at noon and plays through the evening with the balloon glow Saturday night. It’s all at Loudy-Simpson Park in Craig.

All Arts Week continues through this weekend in Steamboat Springs. First Friday Artwalk is tonight throughout galleries in Steamboat Springs. One exhibit is at the Art Depot where the work from photographer Noah Wetzel will be on display, through August. The show is called “Surreal Perspectives.” Opera Steamboat is at Jace Romick Gallery.

There is Snowbowl Bootleg Music and BBQ Saturday afternoon. The Players at Perry-Mansfield will be at the base of the ski area around 8 p.m. Saturday, followed by Movies on the Mountain. The movie is Mamma Mia Here we go again.
Sunday is the Roller Disco party from 6-10 p.m. also at the base of Steamboat Resort.
The Emerald Mountain Epic is this weekend on Emerald Mountain at Howelsen Hill. It’s a weekend of biking and trail running races benefiting both Partners for Youth and Routt County Riders. The bike is Saturday and the run is Sunday, which is either a 10K, half-, or full-trail marathon. See who gets crowned King and Queen of the ‘Boat.
